IT’S YOUR POST-POLAR PLUNGE UPDATE.

GETTING READY TO MAKE THE PLUNGE!

Cold.  No, let me repeat…COLD!!! Actually, let me reiterate once again…

FREAKING

C-O-L-D!!!!!!!!!

TEAMS AND INDIVIDUALS ASSEMBLING BEFORE THE PLUNGE.

That’s what it was like on Saturday as your intrepid SUNNY 101.9 WKQS Morning Team took part in the 2011 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics.  With snow conditions and winds out of the north gusting up to 30 miles an hour, doing this year’s plunge on icy Teal Lake truly put the POLAR in Polar Plunge!

PLUNGING IN THE ICY WATERS OF TEAL LAKE!

As you can see from the photographs posted here, there was a large contingent of folks who braved the cold winds and snow to help out Special Olympics, and our collective hats are off to them!  It was a cold, cold day to say the least, but it was all for a good cause!

Well done, everyone!

CHECKING IN WITH “THE COLONEL”.

THE COLONEL, MIKE PLOURDE, HOLDS COURT!

Mike Plourde, one of the organizers of the Polar Plunge, called in to give us an update of the success of the fund raising effort.  According to Mike (also known as Colonel Sanders), over $6100 was raised in the melee and people can still give to the effort.  Please take a moment and click “HERE” to give to this fine cause.  You can listen to the comments of The Colonel (or Mike, which ever you prefer) by clicking below.

Mark and I would like to thank all of you folks out there who contributed to the effort.  Thanks to you folks we brought in nearly $500.00 and did some good.

Now we just have to warm up and get sensation back in our extremities and we can do it all over again!  YEEK!
