…LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON…

IMPACTS…

* TRAVEL WILL BE HAZARDOUS INTO THIS AFTERNOON…WITH SNOW COVERED
AND SLIPPERY ROADS.

* VISIBILITIES WILL ALSO BE REDUCED TO AROUND A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES
UNDER THE HEAVIER SNOW BANDS…AND IN LOCATIONS WITH BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW DUE TO GUSTY WINDS.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER…

* MODERATE SNOW WILL FALL THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON OVER EASTERN MARQUETTE
COUNTY…MAINLY EAST OF HARVEY AND SKANDIA.

* ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AS MUCH AS 3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED TODAY
IN THIS AREA THIS MORNING BEFORE THE SNOW SHOWERS DIMINISH THIS
AFTERNOON. ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL TONIGHT AND THIS MORNING WEST OF
NEGAUNEE WILL BE NO MORE THAN AROUND AN INCH.

* NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH…WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH
NEAR LAKE SUPERIOR…WILL PRODUCE SOME BLOWING SNOW.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

* A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY MEANS LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS
FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT IN SOME AREAS. LAKE
EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES IN BANDS AND
WILL LIKELY BE INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP SEVERAL INCHES IN
LOCALIZED AREAS. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING.
