Mark & Walt hit the air!

Mark & Walt hit the air!

Monday morning and back on the horse, so to speak.  Following a relaxing Valentine’s weekend, it was time to do the deed and get the day started.  We had an interesting show with another of the visiting writers at Northern Michigan University and a fairly tough bit of Cartoon Trivia, hence the picture to the left.  Also, be sure to check out today’s Dumb Criminal Archive by clicking on Dr. Randy Byma’s logo to the right!

NMU VISITING WRITER MARY CLEARMAN BLEW

Visiting writer Mary Clearman Blew.

Author Mary Clearman Blew stopped by this morning to promote her latest book, “Jackalope Dreams” and her reading from that book and more this evening at the Federated Women’s Clubhouse in Marquette at 7:30-pm.  The subject matter of her book had an interesting resonance to issues going on here in Marquette County.  Al though it’s set in the American west, the book is partillay about the battle between the “old” way of life and land management and the “new” way of developing the land for profit and creating playgrounds for the wealthy from what used to be public lands.  Interesting stuff.  To hear her entire interview, click “HERE

MAIN STREET MONDAY MAKES MENTAL MINCEMEAT!!

Congratulations to Mike M. of Marquette, our latest winner of Main Street Pizza’s “Main Street Monday – Classic Cartoon Trivia”!  Following a very slow start where we thought we fully stumped you guys, many of you figured out that we were looking for “Ren” from the classic “Ren & Stimpy” show when we asked “What classic cartoon chracter’s breed was an asthma-hound chihuahua?”.  Mike was one of the few who knew it and he picked up two 14″ three-topping pizzas for his effort!

SPECIAL THANKS TO GINGER W.!!

Snappy Hats, eh?

Snappy Hats, eh?

And we would be remiss if we didn’t congratuate our other major winner on the show today, Ginger W. of Marquette.  She was the winner of the latest “Mark & Walt in the Morning” embroidered baseball cap.  She picked up one of these great hats (see left) brought to you by the fine folks at the Embroidery Wearhouse in Marquette  Thanks to her stunning knowledge of Looney Toons, awarding Ginger the hat was a pure joy, indeed!

AHHHHH…The pleasure of meeting interesting folks and giving away a load of fun prizes.  What could be better?  Nothing!  Please be sure to tune again tomorrow when we do it again starting at 6-am right here on Mark & Walt in the Morning.

See you all then!
