SO, HERE IT IS…THURSDAY.  MEH.

SO HAPPY IT'S THURSDAY!

Well gang, Thursday it is.  It’s not bad, but it’s just not Friday.  I know for some of you, that statement is achingly obvious, but for others – -you get what I’m saying.  As we always say on the show, “So Happy It’s Thursday”.  Of course, we really mean the acronym for that saying, but you get the drift.

Anyway, so be it.  It may be kind of a “MEH” day today, the show was jam-packed with fun and interesting guests and topics, so lets get on with it!

BLOGGIN’ AND FLOGGIN’ ON A FRIDAY!

AHHHH...LOVE!

Troops! It’s Friday, which of course means that this is the weekend.  But, the rub this weekend is that it is Valentine’s Day Weekend! For those of us, like me, who has a significant other (wife) that is not swayed by the traditional gifts such as chocolates and jewelry, it creates a particularly challenging environment to navigate.  It’s always a difficult time to get through when holidays like this one come up!  Oh well, I’m a smart and resourceful guy and I’m sure I can come up with a decent plan.  I guess you’ll just have to listen in on monday to see how the weekend went!  Anyway…without further ado, ON WITH THE BLOG!

A FESTIVAL OF FANCY FEASTING FOR A FINE CAUSE!

CHEF RYAN POTILA AND MITT ARBELIUS.

Mitt Arbelius from the Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter and The Women’s Center in Marquette joined Landmark Inn Executive Chef Ryan Potila in the studios to talk about the upcoming “Chefs Against Domestic Violence Dinner and Silent Auction”.  The event will be held at the Landmark Inn on Saturday, March 27th and is an evening of elegance designed to raise funds for the Harbor House.  Chef Potila rolled out the evening’s menu, and after the drool was wiped up off of the studio floor, we discussed tickets and event times.  To listen to the interview, please click “HERE“, and to find out more about the Harbor House and the Women’s Center, please click “HERE“.

IT’S A SLED DOG RACE, NOT A DOG SLED RACE!

PAT TORREANO FROM THE UPSDA.

Pat Torreano with the Upper Peninsula Sled Dog Association  joined us to chat about the UP 200 and Midnight Run Sled Dog races coming up next weekend in Marquette and Alger Counties.  She gave us the schedule for the race start, which, as always, is set to get underway in Downtown Marquette on Friday night in front of thousands of spectators.  Oh, by the way, I’ll be your MC for the start again this year!  To listen to Pat’s comments, please click “HERE” and to hook up to the UPSDA website for more information about the race and all of it’s related activities, please click “HERE“.
