MARQUETTE, MI – Great Lakes Radio News – Three bands that made a lasting impact on Marquette’s musical history are roaring back to life tonight. A trio of the area’s most popular rock groups from the early 1980’s have reformed and are playing a special show tonight at the Wooden Nickel in North Marquette.

The bands have all agreed to reunite and perform as a fund raiser for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Marquette and Alger Counties.

The bands, The Hideous Ones, The Queen City Rockers and Blind Ambition are joining forces with Mike Letts and the Marquettes for the event called “80’s Scene and Reheard“. Jayne Letts, with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, along with event organizer and musician Ron Carnell joined Mark and Walt in the Morning to share the details of this special event.

Jayne and Ron talked about how the event came together and what folks can expect from the evening. Ron explained how everyone involved with the bands leapt at the chance to do it and that some of the performers are making the trip back to Marquette from as far as Columbia.

The show starts around 9-pm TONIGHT at the Wooden Nickel Bar and a $5.00 cover charge goes directly to Big Brothers/Big Sisters. There is also a scheduled open mike for Saturday night as well.
