Negaunee Irontown Association

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The annual summertime blast known as Pioneer Days is underway in Negaunee, MI.  This week-long event features a wide array of community-based activities ranging from an alumni softball tournament to a parade and fireworks.

Kimme Peterson, President of the Negaunee Irontown Association, joined Walt Lindala this morning at the Sunny 101.9 Studios to talk about this weekend’s activities.  The parade, community picnic and fireworks are all happening tomorrow and are some of the most popular parts of the whole Pioneer Days period.

Mark and I would like to thank all of the folks who put on the Beacon House Celebrity Golf Classic for asking us to take part in this special event.  A great day on the Greywalls Golf Course and a special reception and auction at the UpFront and Company in Marquette, MI resulted in over 100-thousand dollars being raised for the Beacon House.

It was an absolute ball for us to be a part of it and we hope to do it again next year.

Thanks again to all of the organizers, volunteers and staff who made the day a fantastic experience.

THE KBC NAME THE BREW TOUR HITS THE MODEL TOWN.

YOUR HUMBLE HOSTS, LINDALA AND EVANS.

Thanks to the fine folks at Fat Boyz South in Gwinn for hosting the latest stop on the Keweenaw Brewing Company’s “Name the Brew” Tour.  It was a blast and the folks were great to hang out with as well.  If you want to see a building with history and “mileage”, be sure to check out the building that Fat Boyz South is located in.  It’s some great local history.  We picked another winning entry, and you can head over to the “Name the Brew” page here on our site and check it out!

You can also check out where the tour is headed next week.  There are only two stops left, so if you have not had a chance to get out and sample the KBC Scottish Ale, please take the time to make it a part of your week.  You never know…your entry may end up being the winner!!
