Thank you and Merry Christmas!!

SUNNY 101.9 and BioLife staff present the gifts to the Jacobetti Veterans.

Those words filled the halls of the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette this morning as we delivered all of your gifts to the veterans who live at the home.  It was a great wrap-up to our annual effort to  “Remember Our Veterans At Christmas”.

Thanks to the support of Biolife Plasma Services of Marquette, we were able to get the message out to all of you about the need for simple, yet important, items needed at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans.

The Jacobetti Veterans assemble and select their gifts.

Delivering the several boxes of items and your financial contributions to the home was wonderful, as was watching the reactions of the veterans.

During the Holidays, we remember to help out those in need, but it’s also important to keep in mind that need knows no season.  The Jacobetti Home for Veterans is constantly facing an uphill battle for funding for items, programs and more.  Take the time to find out more about the home and how you can help!

Marcia from BioLife gets a heartfelt thanks.

Remember, if you can’t help financially, then give of your time.  Volunteers are always needed at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans.

On behalf of all of us at SUNNY 101.9 WKQS-FM and BioLife Plasma Services,

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Marcia Hodges with BioLife.

MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Time flies when you are having fun.  No statement has seemed more true as of late.

It was certainly true this morning when Marcia Hodges from BioLife Plasma Services stopped by the Sunny 101.9 studios this morning to talk about 10 years of working in our community.

Marcia chatted about the changes over the last decade at BioLife and looked ahead to the future as well.

(MARQUETTE, MI) – Golfers looking for a fun and laid back golf outing for a good cause need to look no further.  The 10th annual Flanigan’s/Great Lakes Radio/Biolife Plasma Services golf outing is coming next weekend.  This event puts the “fun” in Fund raising and is being held at Gentz Homestead Golf Course in Chocolay Township.

Event co-ordinators Don Marple from Flanigan’s Bar in Marquette and our very own Bill Tibor joined Mark Evans in the Sunny 101.9 Studios today to discuss the event.  It gets going with a 9-am shotgun start on Saturday, June 4th and all proceeds raised will benefit the therapeutic riding program at Willow Farms in Harvey, MI.

YOUR GIFTS WERE DELIVERED TO THE VETERANS TODAY.

GATHERING AT THE JACOBETTI HOME WITH ALL OF THE PRESENTS!

Thank you.  That simple phrase echoed through the halls of the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette this morning as we delivered all of your gifts to the veterans who live at the home.  Occasionally it was replaced by the Finnish word “Kiitos” which is how us Finlanders say thank you!  We said it to the veterans and they said it to us.  It was a mutual expression of gratitude brought forth by our annual “Remember Our Veterans At Christmas” effort.

VETERANS GATHER AROUND THE GIFTS!

Thanks to the support of Biolife Plasma Services of Marquette, we were able to get the message out to all of you about the need for simple, yet important, items needed at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans.  And you all stepped up and responded in true Yooper fashion…well beyond our expectations!  Delivering the several carts full of items and your financial contributions to the home was truly a joy this morning!  It always does one good during the Holiday season to help out those in need, but it’s also important to remember that the need knows no season.  The Jacobetti Home for Veterans is constantly facing an uphill battle for funding for items, programs and more.  Take the time to find out more about the home and how you can help!  Remember, if you can’t help financially, then give of your time.  Volunteers are always needed at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans.  To find out more about the home, please click “HERE“.

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN, AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!
