EVANS & TIBOR, A GREAT COMEDY DUO, ESPECIALLY OVER SAUSAGES!

EVANS & TIBOR, A GREAT COMEDY DUO, ESPECIALLY OVER SAUSAGES!

You know the old saying, “when it rains it pours”?  Well, it’s true today in more ways than one!  This is one of the premiere weekends in the county.  For example, all day today is the Blueberry Festival in downtown Marquette.  Then for the weekend there is the popular “Art on the Rocks” art show and sale at the Mattson Lower Harbor Park, the irreverent “Outback Art Fair” at Picnic Rocks, and one of the grooviest music events in the history of the county, the “Magoostock” in Big Bay, which feature two days of events, art and music to benefit a local chap by the name of Tim McGee who is courageously battling health issues.  All of these events are open to public to enjoy and support, and we here on the big program want to encourage you to get out this weekend and take them in!  Of course, you shouldn’t forget about the lunchtime sale at Shunk Furniture on US 41 West where our own Barbecue Bill Tibor is going to be cooking hot dogs and brats for folks who stop by to check out the deals!  In this photo, taken at yesterday’s sale, Mark is desperately trying to get Bill to relax.  It looks like it’s working!

DEAN MALLOS & BRIAN ANDERSON WITH THE MFD.

Hey, be sure to keep an eye out in the City of Marquette for members of the Marquette Fire Department out on the streets today and tomorrow (Sat) at various intersections doing the “Fill the Boot” campaign.  The plan is to get you in your car to throw your loose pocket change into the boot the fireman  is holding.  The money raised will all go to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  The firemen will be out this afternoon from 3-pm to 6-pm tonight and from 10-am to 3-pm tomorrow (Sat).   Here’s a shot of Marquette Fire Department members Dean Mallos and Brian Anderson who stopped by the Sunny Studios this week to tell us about the effort.
