SOMETIMES WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS, Y’KNOW?

It was interesting.  We were all sitting around the Radio Ranch here the other day, commenting on how quiet and accident-free the Fourth of July Holiday weeeknd had been.  Sure, there were afew minor accidents and whatnot, but as for fatalities, it was quiet.  Ony one death on Michigan roads for the period.  That’s a marked improvement from 14 last year!!  But then, today hit.  As I type this blog up, the local news is full of the following:  A fatal motorcycle accident involving a Harley and a deer, a car/motorcycle accident in Alger county, a person falling off a cliff at Presque Isle, a Marquette man getting arrested for 1st Degree CSC, an overnight housefire in Marquette, and a man capsizing a boat in Teal Lake!  There’s even more, but those are the big stories.  They all basically occurred in the last day or so.  As a veteran of doing the news beat here in our area for a LONG time, I do not remember a day so full of local news items.  Let’s not have it happen again!
