WEATHER, NOT A SPECIFIC SCIENCE, BUT VERY IMPORTANT.

MATT ZIKA WITH THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

Today’s show had a fun bent to it due to chatting about the weather.  Well, actually, not so much what’s in the forecast for the next few days, but more about how the weather is predicted.  The focus of today’s main interview segment was an open house at the National Weather Service that is planned for next week at the NWS offices in Negaunee Township.  Matt Zika, senior meteorologist with the National Weather Service joined us to talk about the open house and what is going to be going on at it.  To listen to the interview with Matt, please click “HERE“.  To log on the the website of the National Weather Service,  please click “HERE“.

THAT’S A LOOK AT THE WEATHER!

Be sure to keep an eye on the weather as you get out and about this weekend.  We’ll be back with you all here on the internetz and on the air next week.

HEY!  I HEARD YOU MISSED US!  WE’RE BACK!

It’s the triumphant return of Mark and Walt in the Morning to the realms of cyberspace and the internetz!  The blog is back and we’re darn happy about it!  After a few days off, we are back.  It’s been quite an adventure with the studio move and all of it’s technological wonders, but we seem to have made the transition fairly smoothly and we are moving ahead!

So?

So let’s have a beer!  A Keweenaw Brewing Company beer!

THE KEWEENAW BREWING COMPANY BOYS JOINED US!

HEY EVERYBODY!! IT'S DICK AND PAUL FROM THE KBC!

The bossmen from the KBC, Dick Gray and Paul Boissevain,  joined us this morning on the big program to let the cat out of the bag concerning the name of their new brew being unleashed on the masses later this year or early next year.  As many of you recall, we hosted a special promotion a couple of months ago to solicit suggestions from you folks for a name for the Scottish Ale produced by the fine brewmasters at the KBC.  After several weeks of consideration of a wide selection of possibilities, the decision was made to name the brew the “Olde Ore Dock Scottish Ale”, based on a suggestion gathered at the Northland Pub at the Landmark Inn in Marquette.  You can listen to the comments of Dick and Paul from the show by clicking “HERE“.  To go to the Keweewnaw Brewing Company website, click “HERE“.

SO WITH THAT…WE’RE BACK WITH A BEER!

Have yourselves a great weekend and we’ll see you again next week sometime!  Get on out and enjoy some of the great events and activities going on this weekend, and we’ll talk about it all with you next week on Mark & Walt in the Morning.

CHEERS!

THE BLOG IS TAKING A SUMMER VACATION!

The Mark and Walt in the Morning blog is on a summer vacation.  Well, sort of.  Due to the highly technical wiring that is going on over the next week or so, combined with being short-handed on the show staff, the blog is taking a break.  But be sure to stay online and keep checking in every so often.  There may be some occasional updates posted during the hiatus.

NEW STUDIOS AND OFFICES WITH THE SAME OLD BLOG!

The new Great Lakes Radio facility will soon be fully functional and up and running, and when that happens, the blog will be back as well.  Until then, keep listening and log in when you can to see if any surprises pop up here at markandwalt.com.  Thanks for your patience and understanding.  We love you too.  OK…maybe we just like you a lot, but you get the picture!

SEE YOU ALL AGAIN SOON!

Planning a speedy return to the internetz!

SIPPIN’ SOME MORE COFFEE!

THE COFFEE FAIRY FROM CRUISE N' COFFEE.

So you folks often wonder how it is that we do what we do on the show in such a chipper fashion so early in the morning.  Well, unlike the ’70′s where the answer would have been “cocaine”, we do it all naturally thanks to the fine organic coffee blends that are provided to us every week by the fine and flamboyant Melissa who we call the “Coffee Fairy from Cruise N’ Coffee”.  As a couple of dyed-in-the-wool caffeine addicts who need one swift “coffee-kick” in the morning to get going, we couldn’t do it without her and her fine, fine blends.  Do yourself a favor and skate on by a Cruise N’ Coffee location and try some.  You won’t regret it!

STAYING CONNECTED TO THE WEATHER ALL DAY LONG.

NWS METEOROLOGIST MATT ZIKA.

Thanks to National Weather Service Meteorologist Matt Zika who stopped in and gave us an update about the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s “Weather Radio Awareness Week”.  He gave us a complete run down of services provided by the National Weather Service and NOAA that are available by having a weather radio.  He also discussed places where to pick one up at an affordable price.  To listen to the interview, please click “HERE“.  For more about NOAA and their services, please click “HERE“.

THAT WRAPS UP A BUSY DAY HERE AT THE RANCH!

Hope all is well for you and yours, and you tune in again tomorrow and check out the world’s greatest blog no one has heard of here on the internetz!

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST AND SO MUCH MORE!

WHAT-A-DOO EVERYBODY!

WHAT-A-DOO, EVERYBODY!  WHAT-A-DOO!

Hello all you cyber-surfing troglodytes!  As you can see from this disjointed entry into the world’s greatest blog you’ve never heard of, I’ve had enough coffee!  What would the world be without coffee? Without the sweet nectar created by the patient easing of pure water through a filter and over the freshly ground beans of Columbian goodness.  Thank you Juan Valdez…thank you.

But enough about me and my addictions,

ON WITH THE BLOG!!!

BEAUTY & THE BEAST HITS THE STAGE IN MARQUETTE.

NIKKI NASON FROM THE CITY OF MARQUETTE.

Thanks to Nikki Nason, Arts Administration Director with the City of Marquette, for coming by this morning, along with cast members Roscoe Sheeler and Ryan White, to tell us about the new production of the classic story “Beauty and the Beast” coming up in Marquette.  The show is set to be a fun production and one of the largest done in the area! To listen to the interview with Nikki, Roscoe and Ryan, please click “HERE“, and to access the website for the City of Marquette, please click “HERE“.

I GOTTA RUN!

Well folks, as often happens when you have too much coffee, I have to go (if you know what I mean!) so I guess we’ll see you tomorrow on the internetz!
